Microneedling with Radio frequency

Radio frequency microneedling adds the element of radio frequency energy onto the already productive and stimulating microneedling procedure. The VirtueRF device can be equipped with different wands based on treatment area and uses radiofrequency to further enhance skin tightening, scar, and wrinkle reduction. The amount of radiofrequency energy (which converts into heat energy) can be adjusted to better suit certain skin conditions or certain areas of the body, and the depth of its application can also be adjusted to reach more base layers of the dermis. The heat stimulates further production of collagen, which improves results over time and increases the longevity of the results.

For best results, prepare to undergo three to four sessions in three- to eight-week intervals, allowing your skin to heal between treatments. You should begin to see results after three to six months, and they should last about a year. To maintain desired results, it’s recommended to have a touch-up session at least once a year.

Radio frequency microneedling treatment is safe for all ages, genders, skin types, and tones, and can be performed on almost any area of the body with wrinkles, discoloration, or acne scarring.

Traditional Microneedling

Also known as collagen induction therapy, microneedling is the insertion of very fine, short needles into the skin for rejuvenation. The treatment is minimally invasive and can be used all over the body to improve the appearance of scars, boost collagen, or encourage hair growth. Microneedling delivers improvement over time, and maximum benefit is achieved with multiple treatments spaced 4 weeks apart. It is a sun-safe treatment with minimal downtime of 24-36 hours.

  • wrinkles

  • scars

  • acne scarring

microneedling with prp

The combination of microneedling with PRP is more effective than microneedling alone or applying PRP alone. While both are effective individually, it is the combination of the two treatments that provide a vital foundation necessary for maximum absorption, reduced healing time and optimal results. Microneedling procedures are enhanced by applying platelet-rich plasma into the treated tissue, which speeds the rejuvenation process. To accomplish microneedling with PRP, our provider will take a small sample of your blood and spin it in a centrifuge. The platelet-rich plasma, packed with beneficial growth factors, is applied to the skin to accelerate and enhance the process. The result is an improvement in both the skin texture and tone and a healthy, radiant glow that lasts.

microneedling instructions

What do I need to do before my treatment?

Following the right pre-treatment instructions ensures that your treatment will go smoothly and helps minimize side effects.

  • Avoid Accutane in the six months prior to beginning your treatment sessions.

  • Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or acids 5-7 days prior to your treatment.

  • Do not take anti-inflammatory medications such as ibuprofen, Motrin, or Advil for at least 3 days prior to your microneedling session. These will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical for your skin rejuvenation.

  • Avoid IPL/Laser procedures, unprotected sun exposure, or sunburn for at least 2 weeks prior to your procedure.

  • No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5-7 days prior.

  • Do not shave the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation. If there’s dense hair present in the treatment area, shave the day before you arrive for your appointment.

  • If you’re prone to cold sores, take an antiviral agent for 2 days prior to and the day of the treatment.

  • Avoid blood thinning agents for one week prior because bruising is a common side effect of microneedling.

What do I need to do after my treatment?

As with any cosmetic skin treatment, it’s important to look after your skin following a microneedling procedure for best results.

  • Do not take any anti-inflammatory medications for one week after the procedure.

  • Do not use ice on your face, and avoid using arnica/bromelain. These may interfere with the natural inflammatory process that’s critical for your skin rejuvenation.

  • Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for at least 2 weeks. After 24 hours, always use sunblock (30 SPF or higher) and wear a hat if you’re outside.

  • Use a painkiller, such as Tylenol, if you experience any soreness.
